Background
Mr. Pollak, a licensed Mechanical Engineer, has
a wide range of experience in the fields of mechanical
and electrical systems design, and management of
multi-disciplinary projects as applied to commercial,
institutional, residential, and industrial projects.
A native of Croatia, Mr. Pollak was first exposed
to HVAC system designs at the University of Zagreb,
where he specialized in this field. His early jobs
were in Croatia, Sweden, and Germany. In 1979, Mr.
Pollak moved to the United States. In New York he
worked with the consulting firms of Jansen and
Rogan and Flack + Kurtz, where he met
his future partner, Leslie Kahn.
In 1987, Mr. Pollak established IP Group. Here
he established his reputation for working closely
with architects to realize their designs, most specifically
to conceal HVAC systems. This generated an active
business of design-oriented architectural clients.
As Principal, Mr. Pollak served a key roll in expanding
the business through providing expert service to
all clients and by bringing in Leslie Kahn
as his partner.
Mr. Pollak is a “sustainable design” expert.
Both environmental enthusiasts and accountants respect
his knowledge of the most current technological advancements,
as he provides clients with options that save the
environment, energy and money over the life of the
building.
