Background
Mr. Kahn,
a licensed Electrical Engineer, has a wide range of
international experience
in the field
of electrical systems design, project management,
and management of multi-disciplinary projects as
applied to commercial, institutional, residential,
and industrial projects.
A native of South Africa, Mr. Kahn began his career
in Cape Town. His early success quickly propelled
him into a management role with Hill
Kaplan Scott and Partners, an engineering firm with 13 offices
and over 400 employees. The experience of working
with a large firm both prepared him for the challenges
of leadership and formulated his appreciation for
meticulous communication between project participants.
Mr. Kahn came to the United States in 1987 and worked
with the New York firms of Herbert Kunstadt Associates,
Cosentini Associates, and Flack+Kurtz,
where he met his future partner Ivan Pollak. Mutual
appreciation for each other produced discussions
of a future partnership that was realized in 1991
when Mr. Kahn joined IP Group.
